I played this game with my friend José today over a cup of coffee.  Quick, brutal, and merciless.  Very fun!

8... 0-0 was a bad move. You played something like the Poison Pawn Winawer where black has several extra tempi.

Thanks for the tip, Killabeez.  You're right, I should have pulled my knight out before the bishop sacrifice.

Just a tip, as a principle, you should never move any piece twice in an opening, if your opponent were better, he could have taken advantage of the loss of tempo when you pulled your knight back into it's opening square.

Elguero, you played very well!    But your opponent made several bad moves  to allow you to give mate.  You went out of book at move 5.  The normal move for white is   5)Qg4!  But it's O.K.  When you played  8)Qg4 black should reply...8)Ng6! and  9)h4,  h5 etc.  Your bishop sacrifice was sound at the time you made it!

This opening is the Winawer variation of the French Defence!  I hope my comment will help you a little on how to conduct yourself when playing this opening both as white as well as black.

 thejefe,  may I add a little more comment to yours. What you said that we should not move the same piece twice in the opening applies only to  open-game. But here the game is closed . Black had no way of taking advantage of White's violation of this principle!  Therefore it is O.K.!  A little advice here. Do not follow  general opening principles too rigidly. Always play a move that suits the "NEED" of the given, position at hand!
