White played some really nice moves. Though 7. a3 is pretty wimpy. Something with a little more mustard like 7. d4 would be nice.

Again, 8. d3, this is chess, it's a fight! 8. d4, go get 'em!

16. d5, blocking the diagonal of your bishop, allowing the opponent to castle.

I was thinking to make my 8th move at d4, but i saw that a3 was better othewise black could force an knight bishop exchange by 8) Kc6 to a5, and i realy like my bishop there in case he would castle (wich he did). And that wite bishop was realy helpfull.

7 a3 may be ok to save the B for open a2-g8 diagonal. But what Loomis was saying was at move 8 d3 is weaker than 8 d4!; you're castled and have a slight advantage in tempo & other positional factors, and should be opening the position in the center; you played d4 at move 15 but in this case sooner is better. At move 23...Kh8! makes your B far less important! But pretty well played!
