How to recover after losing your queen

This guy was fairly high rated, and it was a 15 minute game. Id been doing pretty well in the opening, and was overconfident and let my queen get trapped :(. However rather than just resign, I decided to try to fight it out and actually managed to win! This was just a really great comeback so I thought Id post it here.

@Andrew, what are you smoking dude... look at the board again.

@Phelon, heres a thought, how about next time you dont try and trap your queen like that avoiding this whole thing?

I once let my Queen get captured. I moved out with my bishop and knight, repeatedly checking the king until he was diagonally down-right-adjacent to the queen. Then I checked the king with my bishop from diagonally down-right... well, he had to move and I destroyed the queen.

I went on to win the game.

Many a time where i lose my queen i always end up with rook and minor piece against queen. Can someone offer a suggestion whether i could win against a lone queen with rook and minor piece?

Nice going!  I think 36 Rc6 was even stronger.  Anyway, you don't very often see 7 pawns vs 1 in a game! Smile

You can't--at least, not usually (that's why it called "losing" the queen). Smile

You need to learn chess notation and terminology....... please !  You are cracking me up here !

*scowls* I DO know the notation. I just can't remember the exact position.

    It was something like...

The queen was at d8 and the king was at e7. My bishop was at h6 and I moved it to g5...
