It's a rare thing to say that you played a great game despite missing a quick knock out. The endgame here demonstrates that a two pawn advantage is not necesairly a win. Not the best game, but quite fun:
See the move list for possible variations.
Were you taking the piss with ...Nb8?
on move 55 of your other line, 55...Qb6, 56. axb6 and white wins.
in the move list when you are talking about endgame wouldnt whenever you move Qb6+ be followed by axb6?
Well, some of his moves are good, if followed up correctly, so 47.g5 dosent deserve a ?? because instead of Fxg5 he could have played hxf5 and it was drawn.
Actually, it's not a drawn endgame. White could win after 47 h5 (or 47 f5). He also has a win (not a draw) with 48 hg.
Variation #1 on move 51 goes much better like this:
51. g6 f3 52.g7 f2 53. g8=Q f8=Q+ 54. Ka7 Qf2+ 55.Kb8?? Qb2+! 56. Qb3 Qxb3+ 57. Ka7 Qb7#
The sub-variation in there at move 55 also has a quicker mate, but it doesn't matter how fast it gets done as long as you seal the deal.
Yeah, that should of been 61... Qb5+. I wasn't paying much attention to the variations.
