For a couple years I played a lot on ICC, till I got tired of it. I just went through and culled what are (hopefully) the most entertaining among those games, and I thought I'd start posting them there.
This one was against a computer (played at 2/12), and I still remember the hair-raising finale (well, not the exact position so much as the feeling of the whole thing). Talk about balancing on a precipice! Okay, so it couldn't possibly have been quite sound (could it?)...but my opponent was after all a comp, so there couldn't have been anything totally boneheaded it missed (right?). Anyway, if you want to fast-forward right to the lunacy, punch in right around move 36 or so.
Oh yeah, and just so kco doesn't yell at me again about this, I'm not numbering this one #1 so it will make it easier for me to figure out which ones I've already posted (if I do keep on doing this)...and yes, in the note after Black's 38th, that should say "saving this thing"...and of course, that shouldn't say "tonydal" (since there is in fact no such person)--I am AndyC...

nervy game. i would have folded and cried. lol
See, you're yelling at me again...

Nervy indeed! Really nice finish. The computer likes 39. Rg1+ followed by 40. Qf1, fortifying the old home front. Rybka is giving White +9 or so in that line, but after 39. Rxd6 the evaluation goes to 0.00 and you successfully followed the strongest line.
Yeah, it makes sense that there was indeed some way out of this mess for White.
Thanks! (and good to know that I am a "successful follower").
