In this variation 5. Nxe5 is refuted by 5... Nxe5.  I've managed to pull of Legal's once and have messed it up many times, including via this refutation.  Nice minuature though, since you got away with it.

i think 2...d6 and 4...Bg4 are improbable moves, but the queen sacrifice is a dead give away.

The one time I managed to pull this off it was exactly this sequence of moves with the exception of 3... a6 for 3... Nc6.  I've learned (the hard way) not to even try it unless there's no opportunity for refutation aside from declining the Queen and withdrawing the Bishop (after which I'm up a pawn).

Nc6, Nf6 and c6 are the common preventive measures I've seen from Black on move 3.
