Flawed but nevertheless very satisfying. Comment and critise freely on my analysis and my moves.
While it always depends on the particular position, the general values of the pieces based on pawn = 1 are rook is between 4.5 and 5, knight is between 3 and 3.15, bishop is between 3 and 3.25. So Knight + Bishop is more valuable than Rook plus Pawn on average. So I wouldn't worry about white taking on f7 at move 6.
Technically, it's not something I should worry. But I think most of us started chess by playing moves like a4 just to get the rook immediately into play 'cause rook moves are easier to understand than knight's and bishop's. I guess old habits die hard.
