Earlier today, I played chess master Vincent Klemm at County College of Morris in New Jersey. Here is my game against him.

So what do you all think? I'm pretty proud of this game. I'm open to compliments and criticism. I know my opening sucked, and I know that I moved my queen 10 out of 24 times, but somewhere in there I think I played really well.

Well, technically it's a reverse sicilian.  Nice job with the draw, by the way.  I'm not sure why he would offer one.

He was probably overestimating you giving you the draw there

 Nice game anyway

Well played!

It would be an even nicer story if your annotations were correct. More than once you refer to a white pawn on e5... all the while your black Queen is on e5.

Sadly you are not alone, it seems like I see annotation errors all too often here on chess.com.

But I knew what you were trying to say anyway, and what counts is your excellent draw!

well, for the sake of conversation, what if hadn't drawn? how about

25...Rxc4?

so then probably

26. Bxcw  Nxe4

and then all kinds of fun things could happen! what do you think?

Well played Sam. I think he was lucky to get away with a draw personally. Laughing

Thanks Wink. I think what's cool about this game was that I started out behind, and then managed to equalize the position, meaning that I theoretically outplayed this master.

You do have to wonder why a master would offer you a draw in such a position.  Did he see a win?  The only try I can see is 25... Ng4 26 Qe2 Rxd3 27 Qxd3 Qc5+ 28 Kg2 Qf2+ 29 Kh3--after which White can meet either 29... h5 or 29... Ne3 with 30 Qe2.  But maybe he noticed something else.

Great game.  I wonder what was going through the masters head at the time.  Smile

I'm a teenager too. I'll play you sometime if you want.
