A game that I played to the draw against Garry Kasparov.

Feel free to post comments and ideas.  Hope you all enjoy!

Very interesting game.  I feel that the draw was accepted correctly, as neither black nor white appears to be able to make progress.

Did you really draw with Garry?

    Garry Kasparov?

Whenever I look at games from higher rated players that end in draws, I'm always get bored. Nothing exciting.

If the user raffael truly is Kasparov, then yes

I would hardly call this game boring. Very nice game Leo.

If you look at raffaels profile here he got a FIDE rating so he must have sent in some kind of proof of it.

I'm going to take a closer look on this game tomorrow after I got some sleep.

Is it possible to get away with taking the knight on move 24? I can see white will try to move the passed pawn further and try to get his rook onto the 7th or attack on the back rank. Would stopping it with the queen on e7 and defense with bishop on f6 work?

no,  if 24... fxN then 25.Qb5 and white threatens mate or a devastating capture of the rook on e2

Good move. Black would have to take the passed pawn, and give up the bishop. Black would also have to move away from the pin in the next move.

For some reason, defending the bishop on move 23. ... Re2 bothers me. Of course, hindsight being 20/20, i would avoid putting the rook on e2. I might try Rd8 to shake the queen off center and then Bf6 to prevent play on the king side.

BTW, grats on the good game!

His profile says FIDE Rating: 2813

Didn't he have to send some kind of proof of that?

edit: Nevermind I just realised that you can fill in anything you want as your rating, it's title you need proof for.

    Nice game anyway.

    Just two questions.

Why is nickname : Raffael instead of Garry Kasparov?

Why isn't he a titled player?

It says Raffael vs Leo_Rosene.  Nice try.

well, i haven't looked into it, but - neneko - said previously in the thread "I just realised that you can fill in anything you want as your rating, it's title you need proof for."

...and you've even got a chess.com staff member - erik - saying it's not Kasparov.

so, if he's prepared to pretend he's Kasparov... does it perhaps lead one to think he's prepared to pretend he's good at chess... i.e. using a computer to work out his moves? he has won a lot of games...

not accusing, merely putting it out there...
