It looks to me that people aren't taking the time to analyze the threats to their kings.  I can see how this checkmate could occur fairly regularly, but I would be sure that the line is worth pursuing.  Personally, instead of Nxd5, I like the Na5 lines for Black.

Lol, nice.

It's an acceptable mistake for an under 120, but for a 1600 player, i must say it surprises me a bit.

Agreed.

4... Bc5 sets up a counterattack, despite the potential loss of the rook.

This is a(nother) fried liver attack thread. for black, the best line is to drop a pawn;

What do you consider to be the best refutation of Traxler? Your use of the word easily implies that the debate has been settled on that question.

5...Nxd5 (instead of the 5...Na5 which is the Regular Two Knight's Game, 4.Ng5 variation) initiates the Fried Liver Attack with 6.Nxf7.

Black's correct line of play is 8...Ncb4/(8...Nce7 is slightly riskier) instead of 8...Nd4?

hmm, yes. maybe that was a rather blaise comment. what I was thinking of technically takes us out of the traxler counterattack line.
