hey yall, this is a game from today, thought id share it with you all. i thought the sacrifice to mate was pretty cool. loving the closed system.

try to attack the center with something less weakening than f4. f4 also hems in your bishop. 5. c3? is a wasted move, as it traps your knight on b1. 6.d4 is strong, but it would have been stronger to play d4 at the start rather than the wasted move d3. your opponent blundered badly on a few occasions, incluidng 15... Bxe5? allowing fxe5. Had you played 15. fxe5 instead of 15. Bxe4??, your rook would have been on an open file and your dark-squared bishop would be able to develop and attack the king from the weak h6 square. Another plus is that you keep the strong white bishop attacking black's isolated d-pawn. But after 15. Bxe4?? black could have won a pawn with Bxd4+! (seeing as he would lose the bishop anyway, he sacs it for a pawn) Qxd4 Bxe4 with a powerful attack from black's queen and bishop for black. The good news is, other than the weak opening choice and the middlegame blunder, all the other moves you made were correct. My advice is to play stronger opponents and post your games, so that way we can see more of your areas for improvement rather than strengths. Congrats on the win, and mostly well played!

Yep, far too many pawn moves in the opening. Your opponent didn't coordinate his pieces at all - his only half-decent tactical shot was the Bh3 threatening mate on g2 maneouvre. Still, you played accurately at the end (although I definitely would have promoted to a rook, just for effect).

Imlooking forward to playing you and your white sicilian again Soon!! i like the way you move that horse behind that pawn at the beggining!! it keeps the other pawns free to ATTACK !! BILLY loves Pawn attacks!! Soon I will have Names For all My PAWNS!! My Kings Bishops Pawn has now officially been named {and Crowned} Pawn REKKIE!! way to REPRESENT REKKIE!!!
quick note !! if i was playing black my first move would be queens pawn forward 2 Spaces !! what do you think REKKIE?? and i sure would not have busted out my black queen so soon!!!

Interesting use of the Bird Opening to transition into a version of the Stonewall. That's one variation of Bird I always seem to forget. You played it effectively, though your opponent definitely made some questionable moves.
In that case, bulletheadbilly, I would probably go for the Polar Bear.

Bird's opening strikes again! I've got a Bird tournament coming up soon, check it out...
