I played this on Monday, and have just been going through it since then. I won but I don't think I won due to m skill more that the other guy just wasn't very good, I've tried to analyse it as best I could. Put some comments and routes I thought of OTB and some that I've kinda seen now.

Anywho maybe it's okay who knows. Hope you like it anyway, and that my variations make some sort of sense and all. Any thoughts are welcome as always.

on moves 19-22 you could have won the rook with Ba6

    4. ... Ng4. How can white defend the e5 pawn? 5. Qe2 Qc7

"6. ... Nf4 onto the odd square for the free pawn and check." What is your plan if white just plays 7. 0-0.

After 8. ... d5, your opponent should take en-passant, and where does that leave you? Your knight is hanging on g2.

This game is all just hope chess and your opponent letting you walk all over him.

You start like I do. But Ive never tried NOT developing BOTH my middle pawns quite as much as you did. On move 4 what about Knight to g4 instead to attack the pawn on e5. Of course you would actually have to MOVE one of your middle pawns earlier. I dont mind if they push their pawns because both knights can pull off this manueuver. Then you use the Queen and bishops to attack them. What do you think? Do I make any sense?

P.S.  Your pawn wall after move 8 is what I go for almost every game with my first 4 moves. Try it its great. You take control of the middle right away and throw your pieces up the board in an attack. Absolutely love playing this way. Let me know what you think. I call it my accelerated french defense.

I think you must have been using Jedi mind tricks on him."This is not the Pawn were looking for,let him pass"

Yea I don't think I won this game through me being good at all, but on the other side I did try to think about the routes and what I could do if this happened and junk. But yea this guy didn't make it too hard for me.

If he'd have en passant then I would have been screwed. To be honest I didn't think about it until after.

All in all you guys are right, he let me walk all over him and a lot of it was hope chess. I tried to think things through I guess he just made it too easy.

But you never thought about what your opponent could do. That's what is meant by hope chess. You think up a plan you want to do and just hope your opponent doesn't stop you instead of thinking about what your opponent is going to do.
