How can you be happy with this game? After 18.Bxa8 black could resign, he's a full rook down without a shred of compensation. After 18.Bxa8 it's the sort of position a B player can win against a 2800+ engine. So yes, without a doubt you outplayed your opponent and you made some tactically alert moves and yes, you had an easily won game when you agreed to draw because of time trouble. But all that said, bottom line is you agreed to draw and missed the simple win. Honestly, if that were my game I'd be kicking myself not celebrating.

What makes you think "attacking the queen so he takes it and I get an easy backrank mate" is something worthy of showcasing when it meant not taking a free rook? I would forgive that kind of foolishness in bullet, but 5 min blitz is plenty enough to make proper moves.
And in the name of all that is holy, just and worthy in this world, what possessed you to agree to a draw in the final position? Do you just hate winning that much?
@JG27Pyth & Silfir
I did capure the rook and I was a rook up after 25.Bxa8, only with not enough time to use that huge material advantage. But this is live 5 min game. I could lose 100 of this, and win 100 more and it would mean nothing. Sometimes you have to play just for fun.
I agreed to draw as I was 5 sec in time vs. 20 sec. I need 8 moves just to get my king to a7 to capture that pawn and 6 more to promote my pawn.
But this is live 5 min game. I could lose 100 of this, and win 100 more and it would mean nothing. Sometimes you have to play just for fun.
We're amateurs only playing for fun all the time, I understand that. And I enjoyed looking over the game. But I don't play much blitz in a large part because I don't enjoy winning or losing once the game reaches a certain level of sloppy. Not that your game is sloppy by my blitz standards, not at all... But being ok with letting the win get away in that game wouldn't work for me.
