A very unique mate. I had to consider whether I should play Nhf4 check or take the bishop on move 13. i had overlooked the position and decided Taking his bishop was best. I gained a tempo and if he did see the fork, he would be too occupied trying to save his queen and prevent mate in 4 at the same time. Although Nhf4 did look convincing followed up by Nxh5, Black could play bxd2 or play Nc6. This second move artillery for black puts protection on his e7 square and reassures that there is no back rank mate. Bxd2 is more preferred , since black could prevent the capture on d6 and gain compensation and live longer. in a chess game, you don't want to make your opponent live. You want to make him suffer and finish him off. Thar's why Bxb4 is winning. Sometimes, if you spot a spectacular move, you need to sit back and think more for a better, forcing attack with your pieces. You try to gain a positional advantage by either giving up material advantage or playing a Desperado.
