This is a game i played straight after having a coaching session on the importance of piece position and activity. Despite not knowing this opening well i still managed to win by making moves which, whilst not difficult to make, kept putting my pieces into what i thought were the best position. There were of course a few mistakes i think but that can't be helped.
Nice game. I learnt the semi-slav entirely by playing games going into it. When I first played it, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I won the game; however, and someone then told me I was playing semi-slav. I would have researched more about it, but I was too lazy to. Pretty soon, more and more games showed up where I played semi-slav, and I only got better from there.
