Game 1 you played well. I don't understand 23 Be7+ though. Can't he just take your piece for free with Kxe7. You have your bishop covering f3 preventing a rook lift.

 

Game 2. You had a weak square on c5 that caused you some problems.  ...Be6 was not the best and allowed Nc5.

17...Bxc2 is not best since you win a pawn and lose your knight.

Game two answer I had no more use for the knight so I decided to take the pawn, so I could take his knight, with a check and following the checkmate. and yes the c5 square was weak....

Game one, I took a gambit, and he accepted by going away. so I decided to take him out.
