9... d3 is fine. Instead of 10... Ne7, 10... Qxf2+ is just crushing. 11. Kh1 Qxe1+ 12.Qf1 Qxf1+ 13.Bxf1 and you are a Rook, a piece and a pawn up, not to mention positional and development advantage.
