Very good game. The trade was absolutely correct in this position because the Knight was much more useful than that Rook. Nice Knight maneuvering to that outpost as well.

Yes nice knight play my friend! It feels good to be able to use ur knights well doesn't it. :) The 22.f4?! move u played i felt gave him/her to many counter chances that he/she didn't take advantage off, but other then that a great display of chess against a strong player. Well done!

Thanks for all the nice comments, I was rather pleased that I could come up with a plan like that.

Ian-Sinclair: Very funny Laughing if you want to see what a strong players knight will do to you check this game out http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=15771654

LOL i thought u would see the humour in that. Yes i showed u what pains those knights can be, but u did help me get those knights well placed though. By the time u realised the danger u was in it was a little to late. But this game u showed was a master piece from u my friend well done! Cool

It was a nice game, although I do have some comments.'

22. f4? I don't get this move, this asks for trouble. Better was to continue your plan and double the rooks.

23. Re2? Again, you want to move your king over to the Queen side, and you defend the pawn with the rook. Why not just defend it with your king and proceed to double up the rooks.

48... g5, of course was the blunder of the game. I think you played a very good game against a player rated 300 points higher then you, I think he underestimated you, and you surprised him with the sac. Thumbs up.

My evaluation:

I didnt really like the plan that starts with 30. Ra6? since after 34. ... Ra7! (the correct move) Black has an equal position.

However, I thought that moves 35 through 38 were some fancy maneuvering to get your knight to a terrific outpost.

Rybka:

46. Kb2!! was the killer move since after the rook moves up the A-file, your King approaches and if the Rook retreats to the 1st rank then you can block it with a supported Knight. A much easier win than 46. Kb4?? where Black's King can interfere with the promotion after the Rook seizes the B file.

This was probably the best game I've seen on Showcases, due particularly to the precise middlegame play in a game of such a large rating difference. Thanks for posting. Be sure to post your next great win soon! Wink

he really shouldn't have offered that queen trade.  those pawns were digusting-looking.

some advanced  thinking on some moves  although thought you missed a few good moves! thought you could have played Kf2 protecting the weak e3 pawn instead od wasting a valuable rook which takes it out of the game for a few moves. also moving the king would have brought it closer the the center for the endgame fight! Which is what you wanted but didnt realise until a few moves later! w[ all the same
