Here's a link to a video of myself and my friend eric playing chess in cairo egypt with very small pieces on a very large board.  Little funny, little stupid, little hard, check it out and let me know what you think!  Could this be the world record for a chess game played with the smallest pieces and the largest board, prolly not...

Oh... I wanted to do the move list and post with it, but I had a hard time with some of the moves so I didn't... Sorry!  It was harder than we thought it would be.

I thought your video was excellent, so now I am trying to understand what is wrong with me.

For those who have yet to see it - I won't give too much away - it comprises two nerds, dressed in nerd-uniforms, playing chess, with ridiculous peices on a stupid-big board. Highlights include: the cut-away to the dove; the appearance of a beautiful young women who they completely ignore; and the astonishing lack of any sparkling repartee.

On one level, it confirms all stereotypes about chessgeeks( such as myself). On another, it is deeply droll, whimsical, downright luagh-out-loud funny. Yet, in the end, there is genuine beauty, in watching two young men playing a slow and thoughtful game, in a slow and thoughtful way, in a world which is too fast and thoughtless.

Four and half Stars.

( half a star lost because of the ending...)
