a4 is a very common move in the Ruy Lopez, just not at this point.

And he faked the rating of his opponent in the game above.
Check his online record for his opponent's rating -- it's 1334.

He used his opponent's chess mentor rating... I don't understand why he would do that, either.
Because the chess mentor rating was the highest.
