Thanks to some talk on a forum that got off topic a few people have been wondering if it is possibple to get a rating of zero, or what it would be like for all of us on the site to start at zero?

My gosh, now I'm scared! I hope that doesn't happen to me, but I'm already well on my way...

Give me a little more time and I'll be at zero too...  but then you know what, you can only go down just so far then the only way you have is UP...there is hope!!!

I don't think there's ever such thing as a 0 rating.

Hey, and RedSoxpawn, are you and owenscowens knowing each other in person, meaning in real life?

If anyone gets a 0 rating, it will be those players who start up dozens of games and then lose every single one of them on time because they never log in again :/

A bowl of jelly would play stronger than a 0 rating. I mean, it would just sit there and wobble but surely thats worth a few points?!

On a serious note, the lowest national rating i ever seen in my country was about 750-810. I dont think you could go much lower, could you!? surely not 0 anyway. On chess.com however, 0 rating must be possible although wouldnt be easy. Its probably easier to hit 2000 ha
