I though I would start a tournament so this is my first. if there are any rules you think I should add/remove please tell me.

The rules of the tournament:

1. Knockout tournament, if you lose then you're out!

2. The player with the higher rating will be black in each game.

3. 16 players, 4 rounds.

4. 3 days time control but each game must be finished within two weeks!

5. If there is a draw, there will be a rematch. If the game is draw again, then the player with the lower rating will be the winner of the game.

6. All game will be rated games.

7. All player must have a rating between 1000 & 1600.

8. I will post in this topic telling you who you play against so keep track of this topic because you will not get a message! I will keep track of all games played and the order in which they are played.

9. When a game is over post in this topic telling me who won.

10. All games must be named matthewthegreat’s tournament

11.The tournament will start some time tomorrow if we have 16 players.

 First come first serve.

Hate being technical, but may I assume Rule 7 means: All players must have a rating between 1000 and 1600...at the start of the tounament. (We can but dream our rating might increase during the comp.)

Well, you're the tournament organiser - so keep us organised however you see fit... messages to us might not even be that difficult.

I did that in one of my organized tournaments and my account was closed twice by mistake. It can be re-opened, but it's really annoying. When you send the 10th, the page will say something like this: "The account that you tried to access has been closed. If you feel there is a mistake, please contact us, and we'll respond ASAP."

Oh do they have some kind of spam-defense setting that means if you keep messaging people the account is temporarily deactivated? That's problematic.
