I would like to hear your thoughts on this question.......... What do you prefer, 2 rooks or a queen?

What's the position? I'll take the queen in a middle-game but the 2 rooks in the endgame.

Yes it really depends on the position. In such a Endgame as this 2 Rooks clearly have the edge:

As I said it's a hard question to answer without viewing any specific position. It's a bit like asking "Which is better a Bishop or Knight"- the answer depends entirely on the position.

Well generally most think that a Queen is better in the Midgame, but 2 Rooks tend to be better in the Endgame.. Of course there are many cases which go against this so I don't think it will be of the greatest help to you. If you ever have a chance to trade 2 Rooks for a Queen or vica-versa then it's only the position which should sway your decision. The same applies to any other kind of exchange.
