I will be playing this year for the first time in more than a decade. Will any other chess.com members be there?

As of yesterday, my registration was officially received and processed. I'll start on Saturday rather than Friday to avoid traffic and to save some diesel since I won't be staying at a local hotel. I'll just drive from home. Of course I'll be wearing my Chess.com T-shirt like a good little site member. I'm competing in the U1200 section as my official USCF rating is, shall we say, a tad lower than my online rating. I need to start practicing with a clock. I never play with a clock.

Reb - Are you gonna play the 3-day schedule or the 2-day? We should get together for lunch.

I will play the 3 day schedule as 3 games a day is too much for me !  I will see you there!

I'm tempted. My rating is very low though as I only played in a rated tourney once 4 years ago where I went 1-3 but it got reported as 0-4 (didn't notice the mistake until it was too late to change it).

I'm much better than that now though. I'd fear that being in a under 1200 bracket wouldn't be much competition, but I'd probably get surprised being that its OTB and not correspondence (can't analyze the moves for as long as I want!).

I'll let you know if I decide to go (I live in Tyrone, GA).

I'm not sure what section to compete in, but I'll be there with dad (Reb), his wife (Bishopblues), and my brother (Jaws_2).

Meowdar - I hope to meet you there. I added the event to the Events section. Notice that the tournament will now be held at the Atlanta Chess Center instead of the Emory Campus!
