2D or not 2D

..... that is the question. These 3D chess boards are all very well (especially the ones with nice graphics) but how many people actually use them? Once the novelty had worn off after about three games I switched back to 2D. Personnally I find a 3D board distracting and difficult to use. I concentrate much better on a 2D board. What does anyone else think?

i like playing on a real board by far but yes online i prefer 2d boards as well. 3d boards just aren't the same as sitting in front of a real board! 2d all the way.

3D boards are distracting and they are not like real chess boards in any sense. I prefer 2D as well.

Yes, 2D is best (on line, and obviously on printed material).  Maybe if they make them stereoscopic (and we use special glasses), that I have to see.
