3 teir is where u have 3 "see-through" game boards, one over the other, over the other and u can move ur men from one level to another in the process of playing. U don't have to keep all ur men on the same board which makes the game all the more challenging. I could put ur king (on the bottom board, if that's where u have it) in check with a piece thats on the top board! Also, when u do make a move; if u have a piece that's on top, middle, or bottom level, u can move it to a different level. In other words u could move your knight from B8 on level a ( bottom level ) to A6 on level c ( top level ) and put the king, at C5 level b ( middle level) in check! Understand? 5 teir is the same thing just with 5 levels instead of 3. Actually, I've never seen 5 teir, only heard it exists, but I have seen and played 3-d, or 3 teir, but don't know if it exists online anywhere.

Maybe this is something for chess.com to find out about and add.

By the way, I'm new to this site, what is the 960 chess and how do u get on to it?

I'm not aware of anywhere to play them online, but I haven't really looked. Chess960 (originally Fischer Random Chess) is Chess where before the game starts you randomize the back rank pieces. Full rules can be found here: http://www.chessvariants.org/diffsetup.dir/fischer.html. To play it at chess.com, when you start a game, click on "Show more advanced options." Then change "Game Type" to Chess960. You can also join Chess960 tournaments, which all have a little "960" icon next to them.
