Feel free to share other Theoretical Novelties or games of your own with those odd symmetrical variations or elegant mates that make this the game we all love to play.

Not bad.  In my last OTB tournament, one of my games went 23 moves without a capture, and I thought that was quite a bit.  I'm sure I've never played a game that went 39 such moves.

likely not, this is the guiness world record for amount of moves without a capture :)

So... I can just play a game, and make no captures for 40 moves, and I will be in the guiness book of world records?

Not only is this amazing for the amount of moves without a capture, but it is also amazing from the sacrifices! Recomend it for TT!

As long as you make moves that likewise cause your opponent to refrain from capturing, and are in USCF or FIDE regulated match and contact Guiness; Yes!  Sure can

I've been looking for a sample game to put up in a video game household w/ a functional chess board, & this helps keep a developed look while keeping all pieces on the board up to move 40. Thanks for the insight! thumbup
