Yes this was bad but just another reminder to always study the position even if it looks familar.

In my opinion, the mistake black made was not on move 4, but on move 2. 

 Try Nc6 next time.

It was annihilation.

The best that can be said is fair play to feldmm1 for chancing the move! Perhaps there is a lesson for more experienced players here, take a chance, you never know what might happen :-)

Actually, I was going to do Qe2, but I moved it to that square without thinking simply because it looks so much better on the surface. I do not like putting my queen in front of my king; it defies instinct.

Ah well I think you should do it just to get out of your comfort zone.
