    I see loads of accounts on here where it looks like they visited once or twice, a year or two or more ago, and never returned.

    yea, those are just registered users, but if you go to the live chess homepage, you'll see almost 7,700 people logged in right now, and that number is low from other times i've seen it.  chess.com is definitely a big place.  :)

    Maybe they should delete accounts that have been inactive for six months or so, to get a more accurate estimate.

    There are actually far more people looking for games in live chess at any given moment than it appears. Because people have filters so that only certain levels of players can see their challenges so it seems like a lot less. :)
