Hello all... I play little chess partner on HARD... ALL day long... I have for
going on 4 months.... or so... I play blitz, fast, and to be blunt I beat LITTLE
CHESS PARTNER 9 OUT 10 GAMES... and I AM WONDERING.... what's my rating
if I am CRUSHING little chess partner...
THE games he does win, or very close as well... but opening wise he is no match for me cause I have seen all he has... As well hater type response, the
WELL GO PLAY A RANKED PERSON..repsonse and the TIME TO PLAY LIVE PEOPLE... I have already heard that!... I want to to know from some 2100 ranked players and 2000 ranked players... even 1900... players... do you crush litlte chess partner or have I just arrived at some 1800 rating and or 1700 and it's no big deal no better than that..
I have heard rumors of it being 1400 to 2000 ranked.... ( ON HARD ) BUT I am starting to wonder if this is true because little chess partner sucks now.... it's openings are stale, it's defence weak, and it's still good at the end game somewhat, and tradeoffs but that's it...
Look I am not full of ego here... just happy, and proud of reaching a goal to crush the program...please any real life feedback would be most helpful...
I left I feel around 1600 rating 1 year ago, I gave up studying and playing allot... but the past 4 months I STUDIED chess openings, and played I think
50 games a day for 4 months... some of the half games and quarter games
due to losing to little chess partners openings and my openings at the time
but now it's diffrent since seeing all he has... input needed...thanks...
p.s and the something must be wrong crowd and the challengers from across the world with the computer programs save it... just real chess player response please... even 1800's 1700's do you beat little chess player on hard all the time,
in blitz mode... thanks
I wouldn't connect a rating solely to little chess partner.I definately don't crush little chess partner, and my rating has reached it's peak of 1899 (I guess still a 1800).
So I don't wish to disappoint you, but I'd think you have gotten good at beating this program. Your whole rating can't be read from just that.ps. All the caps everywhere reminds me of someone, and I understand you are proud etc, but maybe your views on peoples chess-playing-qualities related to ratings could be somewhat more subtle.
Like you say, you have gotten to know LCP's openings very well. This gives you a tremendous advantage over the program. It's quite possible that you wouldn't have the same success against the same program with just a different opening book.
The other issue is that a program is very consistent. You may have developed a style that matches up very well with LCP's style. Another program of the same rating strength but a different style might give you a much harder time.
I know you don't want to hear the advice to play real people. But I have to wonder why you don't take that advice. Don't be afraid to match your chess ability up with other players! It is the only real way to test your strength.
I play LCP on hard occasionally, and often lose. I do play wild tactical stuff, though (risky gambits). I don't know, but suspect there may be a some truth contained in posts #2,3. Come over to Live chess where a real assessment would be more possible. Message me if you fancy a game, I don't mind losing.
I'm not sure of LCP ratings but id like to ask you why, if you have so much time to play chess do you not play Live Chess here? As others have said, it would benefit you because of the variety of playing styles that real people offer. I expect that your response will be either of two things:
1. I want to learn and occasionally want to just end the game when i have a clear advantage or disadvantage, but cant do that in live chess since people would be angry.
2. I don't want to have to find seeks or create seeks and wait until someone comes along to play me.
But, if you play short enough games, 5 min, you can afford to play it out, or, if your winning so badly that you don't feel like continuing to play, I'm sure your opponents would be happy for you to resign.
I can understand that you wouldnt want to wait in the lobby, but often you can spend that time watching others play, especially higher rated players. Also, visit live chess at its busiest moments and you will get enough games to keep you going.
your post kinda makes me wonder why you don't want to play live players.
i'm not saying you should,
frankly i don't care,
but i can't help wondering why you won't do it....
thank you all for your very kind repsonses... I will work on the capitals...
sorry it offends... thanks for the feed back.. No I just hate waiting for another player... and i am so hands on it hurts... I am impatient with the study, and even watching... no doubt my personal weaknesses are hurting me and I think I agree that I am just good with the computers opens. I will rest the open issue and say maybe I am a 1650 or so and just need to play more well rounded chess,
study more and play real players to get a better grasp... maybe even get the best chess program money can buy and play that... I doubt I would play blitz
against the best chess program out there... thank you all for the feedback it was very valued indeed... I only asked because I had hit a wall and needed some confidence even if it was fake... playing the computer helped for some reason commit myself... thanks again...
