Hi folks, it's been a while since i last played on this site, in fact the game only lasted 2 moves! Anyway, I'm playing someone called Magicpharm who has accused me of cheating by using a chess computer. Now I really dont need to cheat because I want to improve my game, and cheating never achievs this. If there is anyone out there who knows the dutch defence would you please have a look at the game to evaluate if i am using a computer to make my moves. It's not my fault he played h6! All I can say is that if he wanted a game OTB I would be more than happy to oblige.

It's probably not nice to mention names, but maybe your opponent feels like you are not playing like a 1200. But as this is one of your first games, your default rating doesn't say anything about your real strength. I don't see a problem with your game.

It's not your fault he left that entire side open. That's how I would have played it.

If you're talking about the game that's only on move 7 right now...I don't know how one can even start to think a computer is helping at such an early stage. not taking sides, I plugged this game into my computer (up to move 7...e6. and here's what I can garner from the info.

Up to move 4.e3 white only had a +.17 advantage. Then upon 4...h6 that advantage leaps up to about +.65. Better in this spot would maybe have been Nc6. The rest of the moves on white's behalf seem natural, and well played.

On 5...gxf6 Rybka suggested exf6.

and on 7. Qxf5 Rybka actually suggested Nxd5 instead. So if you are a cheater, you aren't terribly faithful to taking suggestions from your computer lol. Hope this clears things up. Good luck!

There is no way to prove that a player is using a chess computer, so there is no point to handing out accusations. It is almost as childish as using a chess computer...

Haha.  I just took a look at the game, and you're definitely not cheating.  The person you are playing just blows and makes the worst moves possible.

Hummm...chess things to me. The chess let us knowing ourselves into human nature more deep than a logical perspective, but this logical perspective allow us to understand and discover dark emotions or bad reactions blow up trough the player while it doing the game. Nodobody cheat to another, this kind of player cheat himself no more, and start to build a wall that doesn't allow him to see all nice that the chess game is.Undecided

I personally think this guy is just a bit of a sore loser. I ran this through HIARCS, and there are a few better moves you could have made, but I can confirm that you are not using a computer to cheat.

I have no idea what you just said

what he said was:

chess seems to me give us the opportunity of looking deep into our own human nature farther and deeper than a logical perpective would allow, chess allow us to discover any dark emotions that could be hidden within ourselves, dark emotions hidden in a person will not have anywhere to hide while the person is playing the game of chess, those who cheat at the game of chess are only building a wall between themselve and the game and not letting the game reveal all its nice things to themselves

note: the meaning is more important than the mean

 thanks chanchitomono

The real problem is that there is so much computer cheating on the net (in general) that the paranoia runs rampant. Its like stores I have noticed as I age....because there IS some stealing going on they treat all customers like criminals/thieves now.....it sickens me.

you shouldn't discuss the possibility of better moves wen the game is still active. Its called cheating ;-P , tho i agree that he isn't using a chess program

Yes, you have to assume some cheating is going on, but is the fix worth the cost? There are blatant cases like people playing themselves under other names and apparent automated programs running day and night. But in general there is no way to catch someone using a computer program anymore than the person isn't asking another player for help. I joke with one guy that when he plays well his roomate is in the room, but how far from the truth is that? This site is for fun and if you want tournament level play you need drive over to the local Best Western conference room and play on green and white vinyl boards with stern looking men watching you. I don't consider that fun but at least no cheating is going on.

yes, i looked at that game, u clearly didnt cheat, ppl just need to watch out for ppl with ratings of 1200 as for all u know they could be a GM who has just started an account! just because a 1200 is good doesnt make them a cheater
