Well I am not so much an addict anymore I have been working on my school newspaper, a nationally acclaimed newspaper, for the past week and have really had to limit the time I spend on chess.com, in addition to that all of my Advanced Placement classes are taking over my life so chess keeps getting pushed away, but I am still a player and I am still very good at it.

I think I have an addiction to this website, I am on way to often and I find myself choosing it over school work, yet I do fine no worries. I think this is more addictive for me then World of Warcraft was years ago. Can anyone help? Maybe Erik could add a time-out feature where you can set the number of hours per week and when it gets exceeded your account blocks you out, until the week is up, pausing your games using your vaction time.

Hi Chessbee,

I can totally relate to you.  I too have used video games and this website to escape the pains of life.  It is mush more appropriate however, to first be aware that you are doing such a thing.  Which, since you posted, you most certainly are, so give yourself a pat on the back and a smile for that awareness.  Mostly though, know that looking into your darkness and your pain with proper reflection and proper resolution, your pain can turn into the greatest of joys.

Deep within the darkness lies infinite light.  When we ar moving fast enough, the light itself emanates magnificent darkness.  You have the courage and the strngth within yourself to look into your own pain and shed that darkness and recapture your light and joy of being.

Use the totem power of the Ferret, armed with a curiosity to explore any depth and the agility to take on any uncoiling snake of sorrow inside of you.  We have all been hurt my friend.  It is part of the human experience.  Use the strength of the bear to look into yourself with courage.  Your strength and wisdom will come by passing through this pain.  By facing it directly.

Many blessing and much love,

FerrBear Wink
