Nice, 10 years old and already over 2000.  He will be a GM one day soon.

I've lost to a 12-year old USCF expert. His current rating is 2105.

I've played a bunch of the kid experts they are talking about.  Not Colas, but people who are more or less my age.

So far it's more of the same: Nip got to 2200 <10 years, Nakamura and Bhat were 10, and I think Mont-Reynaud (had to check the spelling) was 10 as well just before Bhat.

Kayden Troff is making waves in his own way:

For all these youngsters, there's miles to go after 2000. Do it right and you're a Nakamura, do it wrong and you're the guy whose name I'm not sure I spelled right, who at age 26 is <2300. To be fair, maybe he found better things to do, but he's only gained 70 points in >15 years.

edit: My training partner at the time Jordy made 2200 at age 10 asked, "If he's 2200 now, what will he be at age 21? Insane? "

I was wondering if he trained intensively for a few years what his rating will be then, he has already had coaching from grandmasters, and it seems that his first rating was 600 something.

That's how it goes usually with super young players... I find the young age interesting but the skill level not so much with GM training...

Check out this website for Kayden Troff - http://kaydentroff.blogspot.com .  Both Kayden and Joshua Colas attended the recent US Chess School in New York taught by GM Alex Onischuk.  Twelve of the very best junior players in the country were in attendance.
