All the rules of the game when analysing or doing conditional moves should be enforced! I find it really annoying that when I'm analysing a game, that rules such as 3-fold repetition, check and checkmate are not acknowledged!
I just think it should confirm with you when a king's under check, when it's checkmate or when it's a draw (whether by 3-fold repetition or stalemate).
Am I the only one who feels this way?
Also, it'd be nice to have the analysis option for openings database. So if I'm making move #3, the analysis feature would show me a list of standard next moves for that particular opening. Instead, I have click on several links to get to the game explorer, then play out the moves manually before finding out what the next move normally is. Another annoying missing feature.
When the USCF adopted Mon Roi for tournaments, I think one of the technical issues was that they needed to be sure the "legal moves" feature would be turned off. It is an advantage to have the system telling you that it is checkmate and so forth.
You need to recognize the mates just like you do when you're doing the calculations in your head.
In any event, you can tell when it is mate because there will be no legal move for any piece and the computer won't let you make one.

Like you said, we can tell ourselves so why not save us the hassle? I know at least one site that does this.
