This is the first game I've won on this site by checkmate.  So, I felt really good when I saw the # after my last move.  Anyhow, any of you analyzers out ther care to comment (good or bad) on this game?

This should be in game analysis forum.

Thanks.  Very informative.  Suppose I'm the first to ever make that mistake.

Does not matter really. Weird opening but nice finish.

I'd bet on the open f file. It is rather hard for black to hold the position after that pawn exchange.

Cool finish, is the opening indian defense? I think if you had moved f2 to g3 you could have got a rook from it but ending may not have worked out the same

Congratulations on playing a good game, and your first actual #.

You did a pretty good job taking advantage of your opponent's mistakes.  There are a lot of reasons to play over a game that you won. Sometimes it's just fun, but I like to look for patterns of error in my play and try to improve.  If you want to see what you could have done better, try playing through the game in a chess program with an analysis function, like the free download of the older Frtiz 5.32 at chess.com.  Use the "infinite analysis" function. http://www.chess.com/download/view/fritz-532

If you really feel like learning, try doing the same thing with the games you lost. Smile

Cheers!

It was supposed to be Barcza, into King's indian attack.

The Indian defense is 1...Nf6 in response to 1.d4. This game did follow the Barcza opening (1.Nf3 d5  2.g3), but never transposed into a 'typical' KIA which includes an early e4.

While the way you played this KIA seems adequate - who can argue with success? - the thing that crossed my mind (other that opening the f-file as edgy mentioned) was that black was playing awfully loose with his pawns and left his King in the center of the board with no cover.  The idea that immediately suggests itself to me would be to blast open the center, whether by sacking a piece or two or through some other method in order to open the center files for the rooks.

I just replayed the game, and you guys are right.  I hardly touched the center.
