Just wanted to get people's thoughts on annotating of games during their games vs. after.  I always thought that during the game would be the best time, because you are really "in the thick of it" and can write down all your thoughts as each move occurs.  That is why I hope they can build some sort of "annotate during the game" feature.  That would be great!  Any thoughts on this?

I often annotate during correspondence games... after the opening book, and upto the point the game becomes trivial. But I still have to ammend the annotations afterwards, with the clarity of hindsight and the help of chess engines.

Chess.com already has a "Notes" feature and there's also third-party software with richer annotation features like Chessbase Light.

This is definitely true -- but I know on another site, for example, you can annotate a game while it is in progress.  By clicking on a button, it brings up the board at the starting position, and let's you go through it step by step, annotating each move.

Oh I see. That sounds neat. :)
