I was in about 6 matches yesterday and i didnt come on for 3 days because i was always going out and now when i get back i found i have lost 3 matches and my rating went down loadz

i am well annnoyed!

That sucks but rules are rules. Maybe you should take a long time for each move next time?

what more advice can you look for? Maybe buy a membership so you have auto time-out protection?

Time outs aren't the worst thing. Now every time you look at your score, you can add back 'phantom points' that you lost from having games time out. Some would call this 'lying to oneself', and they would be correct, but whatever helps you get through the day, right? :)

If you've won a few games based on time, in the long run, a few timeouts shouldn't distort your score too much.

It hasn't happened to me on this site, but it has on other, similar sites. Time is a part of chess, that's just the way it goes. What I do is I make sure that I don't have very many games with short (5 days/move or less) time controls. This way, if a few days pass when I can't log on. It's no big deal.
