Are you tired of losing at chess? Are you not improving and repeatedly making the same kind of mistakes? Are chess books not helping you? Is your current training method not working? Would you like to beat your opponents more often? If any of these questions apply to you, then read on!

In order to experience chess improvement I offer you my chess training. For that I have developed a unique training concept which I call The Chess Analysis Course.

With The Chess Analysis Course you are almost certain to improve your play and get a better understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. You will receive personal feedback and coaching from me while you work. Yes, I expect you to put in an effort that is the essence of my training!

During the course I will challenge you to take a good hard look at your chess habits and thinking. Furthermore The Chess Analysis Course serves as an overall assessment of your chess game and you as a chess player. Therefore, you will get to know yourself better as a chess player because it is about you and your own games and aimed at improving your chess.

My experience allows me to coach from 600 rated players up to 1700 rated players and if some want it I will try to help them get to over 1900 and well on your way to a successful chess-playing career.

Below you will find out about one of my many programs designed to make you the best chess player you can be.

The Chess Analysis Course

The Chess Analysis Course consists of the following:

  • Intake
    1. You E-mail me a chess game:
      • of your own choosing
      • that you have played yourself
      • annotated by yourself in Word to the best of your ability
    2. I E-mail you my feedback on your analysis by adding remarks and questions to your Word-document
    3. You reply to my feedback in the same manner
    4. If necessary we iterate steps 2 and 3

I summarize the whole in a personalized chess analysis document weighing up the pros and cons of each individual move you made throughout the game.

If you want to focus on a specific area of the game for example openings – that’s also possible as well.

Benefits

Among the benefits of The Chess Game Analysis Course are:

  • An effective way of working
  • Most training methods focus on one aspect of the game and fail at bringing it all together. With The Chess Game Analysis Course all aspects of the game are covered and integrated such as:
    • understanding & skill
    • tactics & strategy
    • psychology
    • (opening) knowledge
    • etc.
  • You and I can work in our own time and on our own speed.
  • You finally receive real personalized training
  • You will:
    i. get a better feel for the game
    ii. improve your chess skills
iii. beat your opponents more often and win ratings points in  the process…
iv. Experience that wonderful winning feeling more often!

Why Me?

Listed below you will find a number of reasons why training with me can benefit you:

  • I am a good player – achieved 12th in the Australian Nationals Finals individually with 5 wins – 0 draws – 2 losses
  • I have gathered a lot of over-the-board experience in playing lots of serious games.
  • I possess strong didactical skills
  • I have the ability to translate complicated chess matters into something logical and understandable. Therefore, I speak your language!
  • I can bridge the gap between your current playing level and a higher one
  • I love to teach
  • I have a lot of knowledge

 How Much Does It Cost?

The intake I will do for free and is meant to get a picture of you as a chess player.
One Chess Game Analysis Course Lesson consists of an investment of about 3 hours from my side and will cost you only $36 US. That is at a modest rate of about $12 US = per hour.

It's an interesting idea, but it sounds too much like Fritz.

Your ratings here indicate you are better suited to be student, not teacher.

You can click on a player's name to look at their profile, and then click on "live chess" or "online chess" (It's kind of off-right of center, near the top of the page) to see their respective ratings.

The kid has already been fire bombed on this topic.  I remember it well.  Apparently he has chosen to leave up his 'rate page' 'as is' and also chosen not to clarify rating, qualifcations, and other such details; it's all very generic - despite that his last post indicated he would be wiling to help lesser players for free.

Hi everyone.

I am not stupid and you are obviously referring to me.

So i thank everyone who has stood up for me, supported me and defended me.

I aren't too pleased about the people who have decided i'm a worthless chess player and who as a  chess coach has decided i have nothing to offer to even the beginner.

I wish for the discussion to end  here and now!!!!!

And i thank everyone for their contribution to the forum regardless of their opinion. I have had my 10 seconds of fame.

I keep my offer open of coaching but for free.

This forum has made me determined to prove myself - for that i thank everyone.

Bye

Adelaide, I think you are well meaning and sincere, but I truly do not believe you are qualified to coach chess. I also think Eric is going to scold the hell out of you (or worse) for Ad-spamming the forum (Ad-space costs money! You're using the forum for free!)

Do yourself a favor and delete your post, now.

You're going to need to come up with a better scheme for financing your chess addiction.

Erik has already taken a position tending towards free market; which I agree with.  It doesn't take much research to separate the wheat from the chaff, and the kid may offer value for some people.  Due diligence on the part of the customer is not too difficult here.

I wish he gone back and edited/upgraded this page, and think that it reflects very poorly that he did not, but caveat emptor.  It's not a scam or con.  It's a kid that is looking for an opportunity to pick up a few bucks on the side doing what he loves, but not doing an especially effective job in presentation.

I was okay with it in the last thread and still generally support his having the opportunity.  Still think he has as much to learn off the board as on.  He's on the business side here, and impression is not impressive.  Think he'd have a better shot at building something at a local level.

erik

interesting read. there are obviously a number of ways of looking at this: regulate, or allow free market. we've opted for letting most people post and have the consumer do their homework for now.

if we do regulate, what should the minimum requirements be? somebody with a USCF rating of 1524 is certainly capable of teaching kids the fundamentals and basic tactics... no?

Seriously, the intention to teach/coach seems real but  the marketing approach is quite questionable...Wink

Adelaide, I would suggest that you first get hold of a good mentor. You'll have to pay for this of course but to make money you must first invest it. After you have raised your rating to approximately the expert level I would recommend that you start playing in local tournaments. If you do well then you might be able to teach at a local level. Your target audience should probably be younger children as you begin but perhaps you will find that you have the capacity to improve as a teacher in step with your students. Good luck.

You online rating of of 1576 corresponds to ~1300-1350 USCF max, i.e. class D. I know quite a few kids with such rating that are taking lessons from 2000+ players, they are progressing nicely.

Hang on a sec... you are wanting to be a paid consultant and you are asking for free advice?  LOL!!

Here are my suggestions:

  • Spell check anything you use to promote yourself.  Anyone seeing spelling errors is going to wonder "what gives" as you are advertising intellectual consulting.  Anything that damages your intellectual credibility puts a swift end to your hopes of success.  Go find and correct the spelling errors in your ad here!
  • Study marketing for a while. Horrible topic, I hate it, but it's needed for any business.
  • You have to spend money to make money.  Pay a GOOD business consultant for a few hours to thrash out a basic plan and get some quality advice.  Notice the word good?  Do you think anyone wants to pay for a below average consultant?  Think about that for a bit.  Now think about what you have done: asked for good business ideas from a bunch of critical chess players.  That's not that smart man.  Lucky I turned up ^^
  • Your reputation on chess.com is currently shot.  Fair or not, makes no difference.  A lot of people here say that you are not that strong a player... whether that is because (a) you simply aren't that strong or (b) because you are playing way too many games (122 atm) at the same time to be "correspondence strong", I don't know.  How smart do you think it is to once again advertise at chess.com in an open forum, only to see 20 people post about how you "suck as a chess player" and how you "shouldn't be a coach"?  What do you think that will mean for your ad?  Will anyone take you up on your offer do you think?
  • You have to spend money to make money.  Select your advertising forum correctly and carefully -- start with your own website where you control everything about what is on it.  Your ad can be free of critics.  But you do have to pay a little bit for it.

Feel free to make a donation at my website (www.cypherbyte.com.au) for this quality advice :)
