Today at a tourney I sucked. I lost my queen against players I should've easily beaten. I was expected to get 3rd but got 9th instead. I just sucked today! Do people have Bad days ?
trysts
Yes.

Yes, and I refer you to my post of a while back, "I suck, therefore I am." Man, I hate it when that happens.

Even top pros have bad days and even entire events. Take Grischuk for example, he had a horrible event in this past Wiijk An Zee ( Tata Steel ) tourney and he bounced back and nearly qualified to play Anand for the WC !

whoa.... I wish that won't happen to me... but sometimes we really have bad days like that..

I must first state that I have never played a Chess tournament in my life. I have, however, competed against the best in other disciplines. a bad day can be analysed. What did you eat/drink/sleep/think in the run up to day. Were you relaxed and focused. Prepared and looking forward to the day. etc. etc.
There has been a lot written about performance preparation. The upshot is turn your disappointment into some positive thinking and analysis. In the end I got to the point where I had a standard preparation and method of doing things to the point of obsession. It worked though............

Every now & then, I have a day where it looks like I forgot how to move the pieces. You just have to stop, take a step back and go back into it when your head clears.
I slep late last night so I guess thats the reason
