I'm going to guess that "First Steps in Chess" is more basic. I probably wouldn't get that if you are looking for things past rules, and very basic principle.

IM Andrew Martin has two beginner DVD series. One is titled "First Steps in Chess" and the other "Train Yourself in Chess". Does anyone know the differences? Which is easier to comprehend?
