Hi,

I'm looking for the best way to improve my end game. I often get myself through a fairly good opening and middle game, only to throw it all away in the end game. Are there any good ways to learn? Can anyone recommend any good endgame books? (My online chess rating at the moment is between 1700 and 1800)

Personally, I'd recommend Van Perlo's Endgame Tactics. It is quite remarkably compendious.

I have Silman's Reassess your chess book and work book, which I like, so it will be worth looking into his stuff.

I agree with baughman. Silman's is excellent. The studies are segregated into sections according to ranking
