Why can we find some really 1800 and above players on turn based games play like hopeless patzers in 3 minute blitz games? I'm not accusing anybody of cheating. I wonder why?

If they want to cheat on long games, wouldn't it be just as easy, or nearly as easy to cheat at blitz?

I personally play about a billion times better in slow games.  My blitz rating on FICS fluctuates about 1400.

It's a lot easier to avoid mistakes at 3 days per move than at 3 minutes per game?

You also have more time to caluculate tactical outcomes in depth and look at positional subtleties.

I don't figure this for a counterintuitive situation, so I'm surprised you had to ask.
