i've had many instances in the past where i've hit the "cancel move" button nearly immediately after hitting the "submit move" button but not once has the move actually been cancelled. so i wonder, is the purpose of this button to stop the submission of a move? is it there cuz it looks so pretty?

now you may think it's my fault for not catching the move in time but rest assured it's not. you see my eyes are located a great distance from my brain and this affects processing times for what i do to what i see...sumhow.

Comeon, timmay, don't you try and convince us you have a brain now.

Hehe.

:-)  Once you submit, you can't cancel.  (But that would suuure be nice.)

The button just cancels/reverses a 'move' you've made on the board *before* you hit Submit... as does clicking anywhere else on the board.

Haha. Nice one timmay. I love how you immediately prove you're intelligent by demonstrating knowledge of Max while simultaneously making a self depricating joke. Good form sir.

It is going to sound like that game show that asks "Is that your final answer?". The best way to prevent this is to print out the game board on your printer and then think about the position.

Even better would be to print out the board, take a portable chess board, and then play it out on the chess board.

Timmay, Max Planck was the first to propose the Planck length, a base unit in a system of measurement he called natural units. By design, the Planck length, Planck time, and Planck mass are such that the physical constants c, G, and all equal 1 and thus disappear from the equations of physics. Although quantum mechanics and general relativity were unknown when Planck proposed his natural units, it later became clear that at a distance equal to the Planck length, gravity begins to display quantum effects, whose understanding would seem to require a theory of  quantum gravity. Note that at such a distance scale, the uncertainty principle begins to intrude on one's ability to make any useful statements about what is actually happening....

yeah and the more they know about the velocity of my brainFoot in mouththe less they know about it's location. thanks for your indepthfulness Wink

i think the message is that submitting a move should be a two-step processTongue out

It already is a two step process:

1) Move the piece on the board

2) Click "Submit Move"

If you would like it to be a three step process, try this method

1) Move the piece on the board

2) Scratch butt

3) Click "Submit Move"

well, it isn't really like you need to check your moves to lose or resign all your games so as to achieve the somewhat questionable status of ZERO RATING in this site.

A noble goal indeed.

You never know, he might check-mate someone by accident, thus gaining 600 rating points. :-)
