No, since then you should be able to take back moves in OTB chess, which would be dumb.

Think of changed votes before the deadline more as moves that were made but without hitting the submit button.

I think the ability to change votes is probably ultimately a good thing, particularly for players who don't wait for any dialog to occur and realize their folly after they see it.

Yeah, but every person who makes a move influences the opinions of others who come after them, so changing your vote could cause problems. Plus, you should be sure when you submit it.

I think you should be able to change your vote, but I would like to see a 10 hour deadline for 24 hour games or longer. So you could change your vote prior to the 10 hour deadline, and after that it is voting as usual.

It should at least be an option. Then there could be lobbying to change peoples votes which would be a blast.

But that's precisely what Vote Chess is about.  Clearly you'd be changing your vote for a reason, presumably to what you feel is a better move.  Without the ability to change it, your original, inferior move is what people see and potentially get influenced by so I say the inability to change your vote causes problems by locking in your vote's influence on an inferior move.

Exactly my point. The best team would continuously change their votes and be able to see the current team totals. I still dont know whey they hide the vote totals from your own team. I mean why hide the vote totals?

I actually like idea of having the ability to decide whether the totals for the current move will be visible or not when the game is created.  I can see reasons why you might want to do either on a case by case basis (per game, not per player).
