Im playing a game against a 1500 rated player. He playes like a 2000+ player, with playing knight to a3-d2 all to the other side. Is there software to check for use of software or do I have to contact an admin?
Have you ever played a 2000+ player?
Let me know the game, I'll check with an engine with depth 20. If he would follow exactly engine's recommendations, then with high probability, he was cheating...I hardly believe that non FM at least would play exactly as strong as 3008 chess engine...
Hey MrTacticNL - they are cheating here all over the place. You could even check with Fritz Engine ... especially in 24 hrs tournaments - there is a lot of cheating ...mostly on 1500 or below level. you can also check some of their past games and you will see that are playing bad (not so good) generally and in a tournament they win it all against 1800s and higher.
I contacted admins about this and they will delete the cheater's accounts (when cheating is detected) but after a while you are getting sick of the time you spend. Best is to play with 'trustworthy' people, play longer tournaments, team games, or single game challenges.
I would always confront the cheaters about this (or just give up the game).
I better resign then, I got the habbit calling names :D
by Helicopter|||thats a good idea, but it sucks anyway (instead of playing chess), I better just resign like FridayKnight says.
What's to be gained by cheating, I wonder. The cheater's rating increases, but inside, they know that they haven't learned anything, and their game hasn't improved.(I find it hard enough to learn without cheating ;-)
This is one of the problem with on line chess. I prefer playing shorter games limit, less cheating than with turn-based games.
Cheating brings much greater rewards in a 5|0 game than in an Online Chess game.
Use the Help & Support link at the bottom of the page, click on Contact Us, and opt for report cheating.
