How does one know when someone is cheating.  I have had suspisions about a certain indiviual who plays at time much better than his rating.  But what if a 2000 rated player tanks his/her games and has a low rating and then just destroys everyone in a tournament?  how can one prove cheating? If one has ti cheat in chess then I feel sorry for that person....who gives a crap about ratings? I thought this was a group/website for comaradare and fun. Your thoughts thank you Hal

If this is a group/website for "comaradare and fun", why waste your time and care for people who cheats??

I don't care much about my rating and if i lost to someone who cheats... It won't bothering me... I lost to a computer who made good moves, and that's all, nothing more.

There isn't much you can do by yourself, but if you think someone cheated there's the Report Abuse link at the bottom of every page where you can field your suggestions to the staff so they can look into it.

In some of my games, people would classify me as a cheater.  Like when there are closed positions, usually I play very badly and make a blunder.  But if it is an open position, I really am good, because I usually think more clearly.  That's probably why it's hard to tell, too.

I just assume that if I lost somebody cheated.  Just like when I play golf, and I miss a three foot putt, I assume there is an invisible alien spacecraft hovering over the green exerting forces which alter the normal laws of physics and caused my ball to move off line.  Am I being unrealalistic?

lol dhammon52... golf angers me :P.  Surely my partner cheated when he chips in from 30 feet and I two putt from 3 feet... so to be fair I always take one stroke off my score at the end... and count all his practice strokes where he clearly just missed the ball :P.
