The problem is on ur security program. Thats normally, because software and virusses are alike. So if we downloaded any software, we should understand the risk.

The old versions of the free Chessbase Lite are available on Chessbase's own website: http://www.chessbase.com/download/download2.asp

From memory, this is the old style user interface. Not to everyone's liking, but it is free. If you only want the Chessbase Reader, that's also available for free from the same official website.

Chess Assistant also has a free "lite" version http://chessok.com/?page_id=26712

For a totally free, open source chess database, try SCID.

chessbase is very hard to for free, unless u know someone who is willing enough to give it to u for free.

its 99 euros for a download so its not too bad and worth the cash or go to chessbaseusa.com for a package with mega database for 250 usd.
