There is Poker on all night on a basic tv station in United States. Poker has just the same exitment as chess. Me personally would like to see chess being televised. Big Gm games, Tornements, or even teachings of chess on tv. Why isn't it televised yet?

I guess first we have to make chess more popular. And then I guess you'd have to stick to Blitz games. 15 min. or less each side...so the viewer isn't sitting there bored waiting for the moves. I think someone intelligent could make it visually enticing and interesting...maybe an amusing host who kibitzes a little would help? Let's pitch the idea!
does is have to be a blitz chess ?with long play you can always edit it to fit in the time slot.
btw there has been an interesting discussion on this subject 'click here'
Probably because they don't like chess and only us likes it.
People don't like it is because is too hard to understand it (rules, moves etc.) but I didn't understand 'Pot Black' (snooker) but watching it for a little while I understand it now and I love it. Same thing for AFL (Aussie Rule). I don't understand America football but I watch it sometime.
6 Time U.S. Chess Champion Walter Browne is listed as ( Believe It or Not )......... " A Professional Poker Player ". The allure to poker is obviously the money $$$. An average poker player playing in a $1 - $2 No-Limit Poker Game can make more money in one exceptional hand of poker, than is made all year in chess ! Chess ranks in there with golf where the average player is going to spend money playing vrs making money. Poker on the other hand is a roller coaster ride. One day your up $1,000...the next day...you give it back. In poker the element of..." BS "...plays an intregal part of the game, where as..." BS "...is punished unmercifully at chess.
