I am having a very hard time downloading a chess App. for my Samsung Galaxy tablet. I go to Android market and download a chess game, but when I try to open it on my tablet it says cannot open this file. I have tried a couple of different times but still the same. Do I have to download something else in order for me to play chess on this tablet. I nave successfully downloaded many other App no problem. Can anyone help please.

Which app are you refering to?

I am looking for any app. whether free or I have to pay for it, I do not want an online app. because I want to practise without the internet.

I went to this site Hydra but they ask me to scan the barcode on the page, I do not have a phone just a tablet. Please forgive me for my stupidity as I believe that I am doing something wrong.

On your tablet there is an app called "market" or "play", open it up and search for "chess.com"

There must be an app called "Play Store" already installed on your tablet. If not, something is seriously broken.

There is no play store, on my computer there is an app called samsung app where you can go and get any game you want to download but not chess.com

The majority of apps is not available via the samsung store. You need the play store. I am quite sure you have it (it's available on every android device) and just lack the icon on your home screen. You can still find it using the menu.

I cannot find it anywhere on my tablet, I have looked in the apps menu but it is not there, I live in China and when I bought it the lanquage was in Chinese so I changed it to English. This a new machine so no one has messed with it.

Strange. Of course, it might be that it's sold with a different setup in china. Another way is to register your device at play.google.com. You can get the app there, which will be pushed to your device then.

Hi there me again,I go the play.goggle.com and try to download market but when I do I cannot download because I do not have play store icon in my apps. I guess I loose on playing chess on this device. Thanks for all your help.

The play store icon should not be needed when you use the play store web site. Just select the application, klick install and wait a while.

Still no luck, you definately need to have play store installed on your machine, I tried whay you said Sred but nothing seems to work. I can get many apps through Samsung but not one chess app. Once again guys thanks for your help.
