Everything is new and improved, tinkered with and reimagined... Chess has stayed contant for, er, quite a while. So if you could improve it (maybe by adding squares or pieces, or changing rules or moves) what would you do?

For anyone in doubt, this is NOT serious. I believe chess is like crocs or sharks - something nature got right pretty damn quickly...

Chess already changed in the past:

- sometimes castling is introduced

- using clocks and later digital clocks

- no more adjourned games because of computersprograms

- shorter time-limits

- not at your board when a game starts? now you lose immediatly

But the pieces and moves indeed didn't change for a while (except the first point). Personal I like Fischer-random the most. No new pieces, but shuffling with the startposition. And you start with zero openingstheory.
